Have you ever tried thinking about 2 things at the same time?Your locker combination and everything you ate yesterday ?Your favourite song and the capital of Vietnam? It doesn;t work , does it? You can think of one thing and then the other , but not both at the same time.
That's why the verse above is so great.If you think about things that are true , pure and lovely , there is no way you can think about stuff that's false , dirty and ugly. Filling your mind with thoughts of God leaves no room for the trash you shouldn't be thinking about anyway .

Remember that ,
when I keep my thoughts on God , my actions follow right along.I stay close to him , and He stays close to me.
